Former IBM Colleagues

From the 12th to the 16th of July, 2010 the group attended the 3rd nano-MRI research conference at the Domaine du Tremblay near Paris, France. Our group’s participation included a talk and four poster presentations. Shown here are former IBM colleagues Dan Rugar, Raffi Budakian, Christian Degen, Martino Poggio, and John Mamin.

    On Friday, May 11th, 2018, the group went on a day-long bicycle tour of nearby Alsace, France.

  • Nanowires as Scanning Force Sensors

    A new type of atomic force microscope (AFM) uses nanowires as tiny sensors. Unlike standard AFM, the device with a nanowire sensor enables measurements of both the size and direction of forces.

    In December 2014, the group was featured in a Swiss Nanoscience Institute (SNI) video on the Masters and Ph.D. school on nanoscience here at the University of Basel. (Video)

    On the afternoon of Thursday the 25.11.2021, the group took some time to go karting.
